Press Release: World Film Festival Premiere of Sum 41 Films Selected to Open the 6th Annual TromaDance Film Festival

Four short films by the world renowned rock band Sum 41, whose chart topping albums include All Killer No Filler and Chuck, have been officially selected as the opening films of the 6th Annual TromaDance Film Festival, held in Park City and Salt Lake City Utah from January 23rd to 27th. The short films (Basketball, The Baby, 1.800.justice, and anti-drug psa), which star the members of the band, will be screened in the Uncertain Regard portion of the festival.

TromaDance and Troma Entertainment have a long history of involvement and support of the music community. Other screenings at the TromaDance Film Festival have included appearances by New Found Glory, Motorhead’s Lemmy, The Lunachicks, Sublime and many others.

Inspired by Trey Parker and founded in 2000 by Lloyd Kaufman, TromaDance is the only totally free film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art…in all its forms… is for the people!

TromaDance features a range of films made independently, usually without big stars, big money and far removed from the Hollywood studio system. The films which are the official selections of TromaDance have been made with nothing more than passion, courage, integrity, and raw talent.
